Short answer: Your first clean with us is free. We agree the scope and access arrangements on a quick call (or a short walkthrough for larger sites), clean your office, clinic, dental practice, gym or professional office to that scope, mostly after hours, with our own equipment and products. You check the result the next morning. If you're happy, we move to one flat monthly price for weekly or more often cleaning.
Most office and practice managers have been burned by a cleaner who looked good on paper. The free first clean exists so you can judge the standard in your own space before anything is locked in. This post walks through what happens before, during and after it, and how to check the result properly. If you're switching from another cleaner, our guide to switching commercial cleaners covers the handover side.
Before the first clean: the quick call
We'll ask about:
- The space: rooms, floor types, kitchens and bathrooms, and roughly how many people use them
- Your hours: when you open and close, and when we can come in
- Access: keys, swipe cards or codes, the alarm, and any building rules
- Priorities: the things that bother you now, such as the kitchen, the bathroom or the entry
- Exclusions: anything we shouldn't touch, such as desks with papers or a server room
For larger sites we prefer a short walkthrough. Our checklist for preparing your office for a cleaner shows what's worth sorting out beforehand.
On the night
We arrive at the agreed time, follow your access and alarm procedures, and clean to the scope we agreed. A typical first clean covers:
- Bins emptied and relined
- Kitchens and kitchenettes: benches, sinks, splashbacks and appliance fronts
- Bathrooms: toilets, basins, taps, mirrors and floors
- Desks and counters wiped around your things
- High-touch points: door handles, light switches, shared taps
- Hard floors mopped, soft floors vacuumed
We do not read, move or sort documents. In clinics, clinical tasks and clinical waste stay with your staff. In gyms, we clean the agreed equipment touch points.
When we finish, we lock up and set the alarm the way you've asked.
The next morning: how to check the result
Walk through with fresh eyes before staff arrive. Check:
- The bathroom: toilet base and behind the seat, taps, mirror, floor edges, soap and paper stocked
- The kitchen: sink and drain, bench under the kettle and toaster, microwave inside, fridge handle
- Touch points: door handles, light switches, the front-door push plate
- Floors: corners and under desks, and whether hard floors are dry and streak-free
- Bins: emptied and relined, including meeting rooms
- Security: doors locked, alarm set, lights off, windows as you left them
Write down anything you'd like done differently. That feedback becomes part of the agreed checklist.
Why a trial clean matters
Facilities like toilets, washing and eating areas have to be kept clean, safe and accessible, so far as is reasonably practicable, under Queensland's Work Health and Safety Regulation[1]. Safe Work Australia's model Code says how often they're cleaned should reflect the type of work, the likelihood of contamination and the number of people using them[2]. Seeing a real clean in your own space is the easiest way to check the scope and frequency suit how your team actually uses it.
After the first clean
If you're happy, we confirm the frequency (weekly or more often), your regular clean days and one flat monthly price. If something needs adjusting, tell us and we'll update the agreed checklist. If it's not for you, you're not locked in.
What the free first clean is not
- Not a one-off service. It's the first visit of a regular service, weekly or more often. We don't do one-off, end-of-lease or builders' cleans.
- Not a different standard. We clean to the same agreed checklist you'll get every visit, so what you see is what you get.
- Not outside the agreed scope. Anything we've agreed to skip, such as desks with papers, clinical areas or a server room, stays untouched.
